Clear aligners are one of the most popular orthodontic treatments in the UK, but not all aligner care is delivered in the same way. At Aligned Orthodontics, we take a thoughtful, clinician led approach that focuses on planning, education, and predictable results.
Below, we answer some of the most common questions about how we manage aligner treatment and why our approach is different.
Do you use Dental Monitoring or remote AI monitoring systems?
No. At Aligned Orthodontics, we do not use Dental Monitoring or AI led remote monitoring platforms.
While these systems aim to reduce in person visits, we believe orthodontic treatment benefits from direct clinical assessment at key stages. Face to face reviews allow us to accurately assess aligner fit, tooth movement, bite changes, attachments, and overall oral health, areas that cannot always be fully evaluated through photographs or scans.
Why have you chosen not to use Dental Monitoring?
We prefer to invest time where it delivers the greatest value. Careful treatment planning and patient education.
By thoroughly planning each case before treatment begins, we reduce the need for constant monitoring and mid course corrections. Our focus is on getting the foundations right from the start, rather than relying on automated alerts later.
How do you ensure treatment stays on track without remote monitoring?
Our approach is built on three key elements.
Detailed digital treatment planning
Clear, structured aligner staging
Well informed, compliant patients
When aligners are planned accurately and worn correctly, they tend to perform exactly as intended. Our clinicians review progress in person at planned intervals to ensure treatment remains precise and predictable.
How often will I need appointments during aligner treatment?
Most of our aligner patients are seen for routine reviews every 10 weeks.
These appointments are scheduled around important treatment milestones and allow us to make meaningful clinical assessments rather than frequent, unnecessary check ins.
This approach reduces disruption to your schedule while maintaining high clinical standards.
What role does patient education play in aligner success?
Patient education is essential to successful aligner treatment.
At Aligned Orthodontics, we take time to explain
How long aligners should be worn each day
When and how to change aligners
How to use attachments and chewies effectively
How to care for your aligners and oral health
When patients understand how to maximise aligner performance, treatment progresses more smoothly and efficiently.
Does this mean my treatment will take longer?
No. In many cases, careful planning and good compliance actually reduce delays and refinements.
By avoiding rushed starts and investing time upfront, we aim to deliver predictable outcomes without unnecessary extensions to treatment time.
Do you still use digital technology in treatment planning?
Yes. We fully embrace digital orthodontics, just in a way that supports clinical expertise rather than replacing it.
We use
Digital scans instead of impressions
Advanced aligner planning software
Modern aligner materials
Technology enhances precision, but final decisions are always guided by experienced orthodontists.
What makes Aligned Orthodontics’ approach different?
Our approach combines
Thoughtful, clinician led planning
Purposeful in clinic reviews
Strong patient education
A balanced use of technology
We believe orthodontic care works best when expertise, communication, and trust come first.
Is this approach right for everyone?
If you value predictable results, professional oversight, and clear guidance throughout treatment, our approach may be ideal for you.
We are always happy to discuss treatment options and explain how we tailor care to each individual patient.
